Hydrangea in Blue

Not quite purple enough to this month's challenge. Another of my splashy background experiments. Acrylic inks, watercolour pencil, gesso, gold ink.

Background

4.5" x 12.5"

Outstanding negative painting of the blossoms and leaves on this exciting background!

Absolutely gorgeous!

I like that you do a big sheet of b/g and then small works from them Good idea!

Re: Hydrangea in Blue

Thank you all for your nice comments. Maureen, using a small part of the large sheet also takes the pressure off - if the painting doesn't work out first time, I can always try again! Anyway, the rest of the sheet can be used for collage, handmade books, or glazed with other colours for a change of background.
