Orc

Hi! I have not touched a coloured pencil in ages. This was done from imagination, with the 24 Creatorcolor set, in a sketchbook (110 gsm) Thought I would practice before using my expensive materials, it has been so long since I used colour. I would particularly like advice about the fire behind the mountains, it seems a little off. But any suggestions would be great!

Re: Orc

I think the fire needs to be muted a bit. As it is it is too bold and coming forward. It doesn't feel like it's in the distance behind mountains. Do you see how the red almost looks like it's closer than the dark mountains?

Re: Orc

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately the picture was damaged, but I know where I went wrong.

Re: Orc

The first picture was a disaster (the background at least, it is awful) but I tried again. Changed the colours. Used cheap jumbo pencil crayons on the sky and blended them, but otherwise used Cretacolor. C&C welcome!
