China Teapot & Peonies

15x22 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper, a still life set up with my first mother-in-law's antique china teapot, a gold pitcher of white peonies, and a greenish gold scarf on a dark grey blue table.
C&C welcome

Spontaneity and efficiency here. Although it is a fast painting of a complex subject it is very well painted.

Another Beauty from you ... I like the perspective ...to me the teapot is the COI because if it’s detail . But my eye is captured by all the other beauty around !

I love the way you make watercolors shine so brightly.
Just the right thing to remind us that spring is on the way.

Re: China Teapot & Peonies

Lovely cheerful colors. A lot to look at, very positive.

I can't quite figure out what to look at. What is the focal point? I think the teapot is charming, but it competes with the bright contrast of the white flowers. I wish one or the other was the stronger part.

The perspective is way off, but it is a playful painting, whimsical, so this lack of proper dimensions can easily be part of this playfulness.

The scarf look interesting. I think you could make a whole new composition, with this scarf as focal point and it would be very interesting.

Re: China Teapot & Peonies

Thanks all!
The teapot is the COI due to the detail and maximum contrast, black and white.
