Talking Snow Pictures!

Thought I'd start a thread where we can post our snow pics for people like JJ who are in the middle of their summer and miss the snow.

We had snow overnight and earlier this morning. Looks like we got about 4" where I live. Of course, more snow is in the forecast for tonight.

These were taken from my doorways. I wasn't going to step out in the snow.

A bush beside out side door:

Pampas Grasses in our back yard. We don't cut them until Spring because we like to see them during the winter months.

The view of our front steps and the street. No snow plows have come down our street yet. School was canceled for the day, so no big rush to do our little street (normally it is done early because we live a block and a half away from the high school/junior high and kids drive or their parents do).

Enjoy.

Sylvia

We haven't had any snow this year, I would need to post last year's pictures.

Thank you for the thread, Sylvia. And for the beautiful photos. Pampas grasses look really great!

The view from our window (on the seventh floor). Moscow. January 31.

Really nice snow photos.❄️☃️⛄️
Snow makes the world seem like black and white.
I can not remember the last time I was in the snow.
Today here in Northern CA it was 78F
Last February, the freeway was flooded out for over 30 miles and I walked to the store to get food.😄

Re: Snow Pictures!

I waited for a few days until the cloud cover broke. We had a sunny day today at day break. Here is what my back yard looks like with the deep blue/purple cast.

It's absolutely stunning. I realized I started figuring out which colours to choose to paint this the moment I saw it. I wish I could... Thank you very much for sharing.

Re: Snow Pictures!

Olga,
I posted this photo for all to enjoy. Anyone can paint this scene from this photo who likes to.

Re: Snow Pictures!

Thank you very much, rabbitone.

Thank you all. All pictures posted here are beautiful. And great for practicing painting snow in different conditions. I wonder if it was a good idea to use them as references and post what's drawn/painted in this thread as well. I would imagine that bird baths are used to organize some kind of bird feeders, and would paint the bird community at lunch time. Maybe anyone has something like this?

Re: Snow Pictures!

Beautiful photos, look like 'postcard' images to me. Sydney, Australia...never snows....beach weather for us now!
