Smile The Red Hood X Post Pastels

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've posted an image but here goes!
I love to experiment with Lighting effects especially when the head is partially covered by a hat or hood, I think it creates challenging values! This was rendered on Black Stratmore Paper, measuring 11"x14", utilizing mant different types of pastels and underpainted using Pan Pastels. I took this picture of me,(because my head is handy, HA), in a darkened area in order to accentuate the values and colors. The black paper is extremely challenging as it tends to alter the values of your colors. I had a great time creating this and hope you like it too!

C&C's always welcomed!

Marlene

Really well done, Marlene! I love pastels on black paper and it adds so much drama to a portrait.
Can't wait to see more from you.
