First though a line drawing. 10 minutes.

20 minutes charcoal.

One hour was charcoal pencil but should have stuck to charcoal. I filled in the background at home.

Long 2 hour drawing.

10 minutes each. The model was 6 months pregnant.

20 minutes.

1 hour.

Three 10 minute drawings and one 20 minutes.

One hour.

Sculpture is after 6 hours with 4 hours to go.

Thanks for looking.

Re: Wipeout

Thanks Bethany. The model also owns the studio and arranges the sessions. She is also modelling next week. She liked the last one so much I left it with her though I thought it unfinished.

Thanks David. There are quite a few hands here that look a bit odd, usually too small but those look too big and stretched.

Many thanks Arsinoé.

Re: Wipeout

Another good batch, Nathan. I like the pregnant lady studies particularly the linear ones, very analytical. The dark charcoal pieces work well too.

Enjoyable batch of work again Nathan you continue to work hard. I like the mix of charcoal reduction and line drawings you do dealing with tone and line separately. You need more time with the model to catch the few anomalies in proportion that occur. Working from life it's difficult with such short time frames to catch everything I commend you.

Re: Wipeout

Thanks Harry. I'm trying to get more tonal variation into the charcoal drawings but there is never enough time.

Thanks Bill. You're right about time though oddly shorter drawings (5 minutes or less) seem to be easier.

Thanks Constance.

Remember Pauline Adair's 20 second drawings? Perhaps not being caught up in details as we all do makes it easier.
