Quick Dry Café - February 2018

January is done and dusted, but catch up here.

Whatever happened to January, I was just getting used to it?

Cool but sunny here, so can't complain. At least there is no snow, ice or rain.

Re: Quick Dry Café - February 2018

Ha ha blue, just read your comment in the other thread. Yes, we've have automobiles for some time now. I don't think anyone used dog sleds here, but my mom was telling me about the closed in wagon with a wood stove in it that they had when she was young. I think this was in the 50s.

-32C again this morning! And the bus came a little early today, we would have missed it. Lucky that my husband looked out the window and saw a bus go by, and he had the truck running already so he took our son to school. At that time it was -28 and I wouldn't have seen the bus and we would have been standing out there for a while. Oh well, no school tomorrow.

Oh, Michelle, I remember those days of getting the kids on the school bus!
My 'baby' is 31 (and 6' 3") now... time flys.

Looking forward to a week's reprieve of snow with a trip to Florida this month.
Even if it's on the chilly side, it will beat our weather up north!

My Hubby is getting a total hip replacement on his left hip on Feb 26th. So some pre-op stuff to do, then the Operation. It will be a busy month.
He is getting a titanium replacement, I say he is becoming the Bionic Man one part at a time.

Thank the Lord! January is my least favorite month! 63 and mostly sunny, here. Lovely! A fitting beginning to February

Hope all goes well ... my bionic replacement is now 20 yrs old ... and still good!

It's been around freezing today but wind chill making it feel like Canada!!!
Snowdrops and daffodils showing above the soil, hope they don't retreat!

That's cold Michelle. It is 7 C here and very very wet. Snowdrops and crocuses are appearing despite the rain, so spring is coming. I like February a lot better than January.

49F here, better but not ideal. I have never knowingly seen a crocus nor a snowdrop (not a gardener) but I definitely agree that February is better than January. ANY month is better than January!

Re: Quick Dry Café - February 2018

I can't imagine anything growing in January or February lol. Out here we look at seed catalogues and the more ambitious set up some lights inside for starting seedlings in a month or two. By the end of May we can safely plant outside, maybe.

Today is what they call a professional development day. Only the teachers have to go to school.

20C is a nice temp.

...except for the weeds in my front yard, taunting me, reminding me that I blew off planting Winter Rye again this year. I foresee a lot of weed-grubbing, come April. Well, at least they are green, right?
