Two at the farm

I'm finding this old farm to be an endless variation in theme. Abandoned and textural with haunting views everywhere. The snow was a nice touch.
Thanks for looking......Derek
1st 12x14 on hardboard.
2nd small: 9x10 on hardboard
Both with added fine pumice in the gesso mix.

Re: Two at the farm

Both are excellent but the mood created by the light in the lower one is amazing.
Great work, Derek.

Re: Two at the farm

you know what amazed more than the painting itself? the subject you pick. you take a so outsider subject and like you give it live
like who paint a corner of a barn or a abandond places that no one care or even look at them, and you just turn them to a ideal in you special way.
well done and wish to see more of them.

You do very accurate renderings of homely scenes. I admire your attention to detail!

Wow! All the shadows of the branches of trees. Nice window work on the second one.

Re: Two at the farm

Very good paintings!

And it seems like there is a lot of snow in your region. Or maybe it's because of wintertime.
