another FW and Wet canvas boycott

The last four days in a row, I've gotten slammed by unwanted porn advertisements from one of your advertisers.

If people want to see porn, that is their business.

But you and your advertiser are FORCING it on me. Those advertisements hijack my iPad, come up in place of the site I'm trying to visit (Wet Canvas) and I have to reboot, clear caches, cookies, and ram, because it takes over my entire machine and forces itself on me.

That violent, forcible takeover of my machine, and the forcing of pornographic content on me, is an awful violation.

I know it is a function of this site, because I've never received that treatment except here. I don't do Facebook or Twitter, etc. I use the internet sparingly and my data plan is small. This violent violation of my trust is costing me money in terms of data. That is likely illegal.

So, no more Wet Canvas.

I haven't decided how long to make this boycott. The last time I left Wet Canvas, it was for over three months. The time before, I left for five years.

No more FW or North Light books from Barnes & Noble even though I usually buy about eight per year. No more. Done.

No more Sky & Telescope magazine. I've bought it every single month at Barnes & Noble for five or ten years. But I believe it is an FW publication, so no more. I'll get by with the other three astronomy magazines they carry at Barnes & Noble.

No more Dick Blick. Done.

Pine Cone - I only joined yesterday and am immediately really worried by WC's security (default http, and insecure https pages).
