Good books for a beginner

Hello I am looking for a good book or two for a beginner. I'd like to improve my drawing for use with my watercolor journey which I started a month ago and to improve my sketches in my sketchbooks, also to learn values(capturing value is sort of a mystery at this point Is value shadows?).

I'm taking a college course on watercolors and tried to enroll in an illustration course but to my surprise they were at the same time so I opted to try and learn drawing on my own prioritizing watercolor. Do you have any suggestions/book recommendations for beginners? Thank you in advance!
