Busy River Scene

Gouache on paper ,size 8 x 14 inches.
The scene is set on the River Mersey c1933 and is from my imagination, but i used ref photo's for details of the vessels,
I am finding it hard to blend in the waves like i do using oils, but i still like the Gouache medium.
Dave.
C&C welcome

I think you could blend the waves together in the distance, there is a lack of perspective. Otherwise an excellent composition.

Re: Busy River Scene

Thank you for your comment Doug, you are right those waves in the distance are to large especially in the area around the bow of the Coaster.I will work that area again to try and get it right.

I felt that controlling gouache was tough but you have it down. Gary

Re: Busy River Scene

You set the scene perfectly and keep at it as the gouache medium clearly has chosen you.

Re: Busy River Scene

Great job incorporating Doug's suggestion about perspective, which resulted in a subtle improvement of an already excellent painting.
