Early Morning Marshlands

11x14, Oil on Canvas

In going through a landscape painting book that I received for Christmas (Suzanne Brooker's "The Elements of Landscape Oil Painting", I saw a painting I really liked. The painting was "Pink Sky Memory" by Louise Britton, and something about it just struck me, so I decided to attempt my own version of it.

This is the first time I've really attempted any kind of "glazing", and I really enjoyed learning it as I went.

Hope everyone had a happy holiday season!

Very serene scene. Like the colors & look of dawn or dusk. I like the birds too!

Great job with this. The variation and color in the grass is fantastic.

Re: Early Morning Marshlands

Lovely, soft scene - so peaceful!

That pink sky is great, and portraying a wandering stream through an open meadow is not easy to do well, but you nailed it!
