Re: Maya Bay

Hi Steve, nice! You have a stack of detail in here but I kind of feel that there needs to be more shadow in the water under the boats.

Re: Maya Bay

Thanks Lady C. I can see now the water is not quite right. I will look to that.

Re: Maya Bay

That's really nice work. It seems you have upped your game as they like to say in these parts.

I agree with Ms. Lady C, though.

Re: Maya Bay

Steve.....very colorful, I really like it.....and especially the water.....I see all sorts of boats everyday and it depends on the cloud cover, whether you see shadows of the boats in the water......and when they are crowded in, as is the case here, shadows are 'nil'....love the water color and wave (slight) movement!

Re: Maya Bay

Cliff Thanks, it is nice you think I have upped my game. I appreciated that. It is easier now because I have remodelled my workshop, remove my lathe and recovered the work surfaces, got a nice comfy chair and I am now as snug as a bug in a rug. Far better than the dining room table, it is not big enough to call a studio but more of a man cave.
Blue Thanks, pleased you like it and I very much appreciate your comments. However on revisiting the reference photo it is clear there is more shadow. I had shadow there, then darkened the water and didn't darken the shadow.
Joachim Many thanks.
