Let me open this thread....the snow was drifting with 50 mph gusts, but notice how it kept the snow off of the buildings....

Hi folks, all the best for 2018.

Photographed and edited this one yesterday. Its rare that I get things processed in the same month, but I needed something for the set subject (Food & Drink) at our camera club meeting next week.

C&C welcome.

regards - Peter

Re: Show us your "Best Stuff" from January, 2018

Natalie,
The first image you posted has a slight abstract feel to it. I certainly like the contrast of the Whites and Reds. It is eye catching with a lot of interesting lines, diagonals and tilted tension. Thanks for getting out there and taking this shot before freezing your toes or your nose.

Ahhh, but the second post is my favorite. Those curvy lines directly leads the eyes to the structure in the background. That house is such an important element in this composition and you brought such attention to it by the leading lines and by framing it with the barn on the left and trees on the right. An excellent photograph with wonderful elements.

Peter,
This is something really different for you. A really nice still life composition fit for a culinary magazine, particularly for an advertisement for a fine wine or deliciously aged cheese.

Simply superb images, Natalie and Peter!

Natalie, I agree with Lorell's comments about the leading lines and composition of #2. And I really like the tilt and abstraction of #1.

Peter, IMO still lifes are underappreciated. Yours is classic and professional. (I'm trying to figure out what's going on at the bottom.)

I have nothing this good or interesting, but I'll show one anyway. I believe it's a variety of ornamental kale...

Dave, YES! Yes, yes.
The interest meter just zoomed way to the right when you did that.
My gosh that is clear.
