sea mist

an oil painting 18 x 24 inches of the mist over the sea and an area of intense light. One of the exciting things to do is to stand on high ground near the sea on the Isle of Skye and look across the water. As the weather is constantly changing you can suddenly see brightly lit up areas of the water even miles away. Some things change in life yet views like this are simply timeless. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and lots of happy painting days! Caroline

Re: sea mist

Your 'timless landscape' is beautifully portrayed in that windswept sky & reflected light on the distant ocean - A well defined center of interest - Happy New Year Caroline !

Caroline: Beautiful painting-

My favorite recording artist is Loreena McKennitt; this painting visually imparts the mystical and spiritual feelings one gets while listening to her incredible music -

Happy New year to you also Caroline, and all the best for 2018.
A gentle bluish grey - very tranquil and engaging.

Re: sea mist

As I try to imagine that view with the mists and changes of light, you make it real for me. Beautiful colour with graceful, rhythmic transitions...visual music. Happy New Year to you too!

Re: sea mist

I am drawn into the mysterious distance with this one, Caroline, and I understand how you must have felt compelled to paint those bright spots on the water. What gifts they are on an otherwise dark sea! Beautiful piece and I hope this coming year is good to you!

I lurk this forum often but seldom comment. I feel compelled to comment on yours. I love It. Love monochromatic paintings and this one really talks to me. Great color!

Have you done any paintings of those cliffs on the Dingle Peninsula?
