Bird a Day, Redux

Trying to get myself back into a daily sketching and painting habit. So, as I did a couple of years ago, I am doing a Bird a Day in my sketchbook. (Stillman and Birn Alpha series, 6x9". Mostly Daniel Smith watercolors.)

A Victoria Crowned Pigeon...had fun placing this on the page to highlight the amazing plumage!

I love the Victoria Crowned Pigeon ....so clever how the stunning plumage is supported by a background which speaks the same language in terms of brushstroke.

Re: Bird a Day, Redux

The vulture’s my favorite - very striking and I love the sense of volume it has.

Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks. The Vulturine Guineafowl (not an actual vulture!) is my favorite, too!

Re: Bird a Day, Redux

I've been doing a bird a day myself. I guess we think alike. For me, birds are a bit easier to draw, for one thing but I don't like drawing much, and for another, I like birds a lot.

You're doing great. I'm admiring the ones you've posted. It's nice to see someone else doing the same sort of thing.

I'll figure out a way to post some of mine as soon as I can. I'm not very knowledgable about resizing the photos yet, but I'll see if my daughter can help me sometime soon.
