Sketches and Doodles

Monastic Bat referred to his work in another forum as doodles. It struck a chord with me as a life long doodler. I had a 7th grade science teacher ask me to refrain from doodling on my homework. A college professor complained to me about doodling on my notes (didn't stop me). Sketching and painting were an extension of my doodling.

If it is alright, I intend to start an on-going watermedia doodle thread here as there is no doodle forum. I know these may look like paintings but at heart there are spontaneous doodles for fun.

C&C most welcome. They are doodles to lighten my day and maybe (if I am lucky) yours. Gary

All of them are lovely! The mug and candle are great. Your landscapes draw me right in - warm sunny weather! Great scenes. Doodles? Call them what you like, but any of them are worth hanging.

Re: Sketches and Doodles

Thanks Rob, Cali Ann & Kay. The nice thing about thinking of these as doodles: it gives me the freedom to make mistakes. The work is so much more fun that way. Gary

Love your 'doodles'. A good point you made about having the freedom to make mistakes.
