Very basic still life.

Painted this basic still life a while ago and decided I might stick it in a frame and out it on a wall somewhere. I'm undecided.

Goodness, I love this and usually I don't really like still life paintings.

Re: Very basic still life.

Just thought I'd better add, for those who don't know, 'Only Fools and Horses' is a UK sitcom which has a character called 'Trigger' in it, who constantly mistakenly calls another character, (Rodney) by the name of 'Dave'.

Re: Very basic still life.

I had a grandmother who was bad with names.
Just as she was about to tell off one of her many grandchildren, she intended to shout the name of the offending grandchild, but very rarely got any of our names right. She had this peculiar habit of shouting out the name of the eldest grandchild first, then correct herself by immediately shouting out the name of the second eldest grandchild, then the third eldest, etc, etc, in order of birth, until she eventually came to the correct name.
I was the second youngest grandchild, so sometimes it took a while for grandma to tell me off and occasionally, by the time she'd figured out just who she was telling off, had forgotten what she was telling me off for.

Re: Very basic still life.

Anyway......IAN: I really like this still life. The style is wonderful. A bit of Cezanne in this laddie.
Please keep painting.

Re: Very basic still life.

I agree with Derek.

I love how you handled the draped fabrics.
