Can anyone give a detailed description of botanical illustration?

As we see human figure paintings, we try to focus on it's anatomy, symmetry and most importantly it's color, in the same way we do it for plants. Taking into consideration a basic example, if we look at a sunflower painting, we will notice closely the colors of the petals, the details of the pollens and so on. This will be called Botanical Illustration.
