Scavenger Hunt #524: Dec 22-30

If you've done at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one, we'd really appreciate it! You can sign up by posting your name and the current hosting list stickie on Artwork from Life forum:

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Rules for Hunting:

* All items on the list must be sketched from life--not imagination nor photo references
* Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed to by unanimous vote among the participants
* You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count those objects as separate list items, but no single object can count for more than one list item.
* All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you sketch and post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few items as you like; you don't have to finish the entire list to participate! You don't have to comment on every post, but comment, if and when you can.

Scavenger Hunts last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you to do each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are also welcome!

Re: Scavenger Hunt #524: Dec 22-30

You are welcome, EP!

I sketched in the big book with a Micron 01.
Number 1, iPhone - I sketched my old one and my new one (hand me down from daughter, Jennie.) Much bigger screen on the new one. I like the new phone, but I can't stick it in my pocket. I usually carry my phone and keys in my pocket so not to leave them. Now I have to carry a bag. Anyway.....

Hi Hunters,

I have a week off, but I've been rather busy car hunting. The old Bimmer had just too many issues and it would fail it's annual safety test next January or cost me the price of a restauration.
So after intensive searching I bought myself a Volvo S40 today

Happy holidays to all of you. This is 'iPhone' and my 'new' car key.

Jo, good job on the 2 different sizes of iPhones. I have trouble seeing the smaller screen too, but I like that it fits in my pants pocket too.

Kat, you did such great shading on the squash and the fabric! Did you grow that on your property?

Jeroen, congratulations on your new car!!! Nice hatching on the key and the phone. You can fit both of them in your pocket.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #524: Dec 22-30

Hi, Scatty! Oh, beautiful squash and the cloth folds are really exciting. Good idea!

Jeroen, good for you to have a holiday and get yourself a much needed present sounds like. I like your size of iPhone, that is what my other daughter has and she doesn't want a new "big one" so I got the other one. Excited for you and a new car. Yowza!!

Joan, the kids were complaining about my old phone and lack of perks so Jennie got the new super one and gave me hers. I should be happier. LOL
Your squash is colorful and love the zig-zag pattern. Easy to see the pottery look. I like the alphabetical list so I don't have to count!

Kids coming tomorrow so need to get the grocery list done and go shopping. It will be a madhouse. We decided to go a bit late tonight, Fridays are usually awful anyway. Hope we find everything. Back soon......

Re: Scavenger Hunt #524: Dec 22-30

Hi ya’ll - really feelin’ the itch to sketch……hope I can come thru and make it happen….I think will try to emulate Jo’s method of procrastination from chores — sketch scavenger hunt stuff!!!……Way to go Jo, and thanks for hosting…..

Joan - queen of seasons and city atmosphere….nice loose watercolors , like the colored marks on the squash.

Scatty----that is the tenderest portrayal of a winter squash I have ever seen......so glad you lost track of the time...

Ai = hope your stay is the states is really good, gets crazy at Christmas but sometimes the spirit brings a nice connected atmosphere when we are focused on others???

Joe- sweet mounted soldier trouping in the season in last hunt

I hope this last hunt of the year is a blast for each of yous……love ya’ll and all you bring here…..

Jeroen - congrats on the new "chariot"......nice sketch....

Merry merry……sketch, sketch……merry, merry….sketch, sketch….

Jo - Thanks for the list. My next phone will be the bigger one. Little one is getting* harder and harder to see. Wish they would stop shrinking the text. Nice sketches.

Scatty - Hunt item may have been the squash but I am fascinated by the shading on your folds. Beautiful!

Jeroen - Wish you lots of safe journeys in your new car. Great job on the sketches.

Joan - Nice sketches. Hope you have a fun and safe visit with your sister. You mentioned lobster roll and Ai saw the photo on FB. Yum! I have not had a good lobster roll since we left Rhode Island in 96! New England has the best seafood. Florida has a lot but not like New England!

Robin - been thinking of you playing with a new pen and couple of new inks.

Keep sketching
Joe

Re: Scavenger Hunt #524: Dec 22-30

Jo - Thanks. I have an iPhone 5 and it really should be replaced. Someone gave it to me when they upgraded theirs. It doesn't hold a charge for long so I end up dragging a portable charge pack most places.

Robin, thanks. A very merry right back at you!

Joe, thank you. Yes, New England has some seriously good seafood. I have a hard time coming up here and not having fried seafood and lobster. It is hard with Christmas because we have so many other things to eat. lol

WP - Your sketches are so fun! Love the bubble gum and the acorn in the Fox's hand.

We ended up with around 4/5 inches of snow yesterday. Today it snowed a little but then changed to a bit of rain. It is about 31 degrees out and they are forecasting freezing rain tonight. Why don't I go someplace warm for Christmas?
