Mama's Mexican Kitchen

I actually had posted another thread about this painting a while ago, but had to get another image because the one I posted turned out to be awful - I just couldn't tell b/c I was using a small screen. This one should be much better.

This is a local dive bar/restaurant in Seattle that's been around forever. The scene looked so festive that just I had to paint it. I actually had done an oil pastel of the same scene quite a number of years ago.

And, I'm pleased to report, it sold. It was one of my first paintings to sell.

Beautifully done! Lots of realistic detail, good lighting and shadow. Nice work!

This painting of a night scene café really packs a punch! No wonder it sold. Amazing work, Annie!

Sheryl and Kay, many thanks!

But the photo still has some issues, I see now - a little blurriness and my perspective edits created other problems. It's so often nearly impossible to get a shot that truly represents the actual look of the painting. :sigh:
