Justifying the Means

Hey all!

Cyndi, I thought you'd relate to this one given your recent pursuits. It is a mathematically inspired piece.

Justifying the Means, 24"x24" mixed media (acrylic, synthetic fibre, and trace amounts of polydimethylsiloxane and isopropyl alcohol)

Re: Justifying the Means

Hahaha!! Yup! Not only are the pours gorgeous and chaotic (we have a friend who did his doctorate in chaos theory), but the composition is strangely compelling I had to look up polydimethylsiloxane. I use a spray silicone...is this a liquid form?

Rick, I totally love your work and identify with chaos theory.

Re: Justifying the Means

Thanks Kay. I really enjoy the "somewhat controlled chaos" of pouring paint and hope that the counterpoint of the hard edged straight line compositions will continue to become more compelling as the series progresses. Wish me a little luck to go along with the experimentation?

This is exactly what I love about it...that mix of chaos and geometry. I don't think you need any luck...just your usual talent, good eye, and "jump in feet first" attitude!
