Hi,

I tested it and worked for me. I take a knife and press it to palette to ge better mixing. I use high pigment colors only.

Did you use real egg yokes?

These are a mix of oil and egg?

Said, that oil-egg tempera paint is fine, but it has short shelf life in tubes. Artists of 19 century often used such oil-egg tempera, but they did fresh mixing of it before painting sessions. That make it less popular because people love more easy to prepare, oil paints. But some of 19-century authors proposed it as a more permanent painting material.
