Red face Need help in selecting a digital artists program or app.

I need an art app that is super easy to use with an awesome color selection. I'd like to make my own pallettes with gradient colors. My budget is $0 at this time. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Try Krita (free).

Re: Need help in selecting a digital artists program or app.

Doug, I see your suggestion to another member's thread about Krita. If you'll excuse my ignorance about these types of graphic editors, I am interested in downloading Krita or something similar, but don't know if one needs a special tablet like Wacom or if I can use my acer laptop with touch screen. My laptop keyboard folds around back to become a sort of tablet shape. Also, do users need to buy a special stylus of some kind?

As with most grahic programs a tablet or pen with pressure sensitive screen os preferred but i have used a mouse for years. A cheap Wacom bamboo tablet even a tiny one would suffice. Many tablets come with some software.

Btw I used Sketchclub (free) on my ipad.

Thanks for the info. I don't have a tablet at this point, but I may decide to buy one at some point. In the meantime I just loaded a free app called ibisPaintX on iphone and tried it. A surprisingly good app!

I recommend you try Sketchclub if you are using an ipad, it has lots of brushes, some of which I designed.
