Flowology (xpost Abs/Con)

Hey all,

This one finally got finished. It has been hanging around in the studio for almost a year. 36"x48" mixed media on cradled wood panel. (modeling paste, cotton, fluid acrylics, gel, tiny glass beads/balls, and a tiny bit of alcohol and oil for effects)

Cotton? Really?? Is it mixed in with medium, stuck on, or is cotton fabric the whole substrate? Inquiring minds need to know

Really! heheh It is cotton thread that I space dyed to get the blue tonal shifts that you see in the outlines of the shapes.

Ahhh! Very clever! I love how subtle the outlining is, but trying to imagine the piece without it...nope. It needs that little touch for the value range and for movement. I like it a lot

Thanks Cyndi. I'm hoping I can get a better pic of it soon. White texture is hard to capture.

I could look at that for hours! It's very pleasing to the eye, and seems to have a calming effect on me... love it.

Thanks JayJay. Its inspiration is the zone that many artists experience when they get deeply involved in creating.

What a lovely composition. I admire your sticktoitiveness, and still finishing it after a year. It paid off!
