Those of you who know me, probably could guess what I would paint. I did this in about 1 1/2 hour this morning in our art class where lots of times we talk more than paint It is done on mat board with pastels. See some things I may tweek later. thanks Li for hosting.

Nicely done Mary. It sounds like my art class too. We talk as much as we paint.

I knew I could lure you out with a cardinal Mary. I love the rich, earthy colors in this. It's beautiful!

I love your little cardinal, he just glows. My art group is just the same, we have been getting together every Tuesday for years and I enjoy the company and conversation as much as I enjoy the art. Lately its the only time I get to paint for the WDE but its difficult to judge the time taken because of all the distractions.

Sounds like my art club too - in fact, if I really need to get something finished I am better off working at home sometimes

I really like this, the cardinal is so vivid against the subdued background palette.

Sounds just like our art organization, too. Lots of talking and too much eating then maybe we will pay attention to the demo artist, LOL! Love your rendition of the cardinal, Mary! I've been missing your work on the WDEs...

Lovely cardinal, Mary, I remember photos you've posted of yours. I like the glow that the pastel has, beautiful!

I just joined an art group; we had our first painting get together last Friday. We were kinda quiet; I'm sure that will change as we get to know each other.

Fun interpretation of the cardinal! I like the brilliant color and the textures, photo could have been a bit sharper but even with that it's easy to see how you handled the pastels. The dark neutrals background is interesting and makes him really pop forward. I love seeing the variations everyone does with the same photos!
