Re: After the rain

The tree trunks seem so dark & dominating, but the homes are so bright, like in full sun. Seems like there would be quite a bit of reflected light hitting the trunks.
Softening the tree reflections and matching them up better was a good thing.

Re: After the rain

I wasnít satisfied with the White House, which I did with Titanium, so just for grins I roughly went over just the clapboards with Zinc White. What a great effect it made. You probably canít see it here, itís very subtle, but I really learned something. Also added more sunspots on road.

Re: After the rain

I think this is absolutely amazing, but I think something additional has to be done to the tree trunks....but I don't know what....

Re: After the rain

I like this a lot! draws me in, lots of places for my eyes to go. Detail of branches shows great brushwork.
In the first posting, the transition from the puddles in the road to the wet pavement was much more convincing than later versions with the fuzzy light. Also, the light on the tree trunks, is that sunlight through the tree branches? If so, the shapes of the light striking the trunks maybe would have sharper edges and somewhere in their shape, follow the curve of the trunk more. If it is reflected light from the wet road it seems a little bright to be convincing.
