My first studies of painting portraits with Photoshop

CRITIQUE PLEASE.

I wish to paint something magical like faeries with wings etc... I have an personal instructor who lead me this way.

I don't know if it's called art or just copying...
Those are my first studies with her on 2017 Nov. I sketch, then give the face shades and use brushes 5, 6 to go to the details.

The last one is painting of my little niece.

Am I on the right way to my faeries?

My latest practice: my niece

You are doing great! portraits aren't easy. Your practice with the planes of the face was a great place to start.

Thanks a lot LavenderFrost.

This is the painting of my niece, inspired by milyKnight's work.

I stopped for a while after failing in painting my relatives. Now I tried to paint flower as a relaxing remedy
