Cat! (xpost watercolor)

Hi everyone, it's been awhile. I've been very busy with pet portrait commissions, and school (will be finishing my course soon! Yay!)

Here's a commission that I completed a few months ago The client had requested for me to include the concrete drain cover in the painting, as it was her cat's favorite spot.

15" x 11"
Watercolor, on Arches 140lbs CP

Please feel free to give me your feedback!

Best advice I've ever received - "No matter what happens, don't you ever stop painting."

This is a superb portrait, wonderful detail in the fur and I like how you included the drain cover. Good work!

Love the direct eye contact with 'Stubby" and the detail in the coat. Treasured for sure.

Re: Cat! (xpost watercolor)

Beautiful and well done IMHO the very dark in the drain cover is a bit distracting

Wow, this is amazing! It's not just a painting of a cat, but it's a painting of a very particular cat. Meaning, I can see the personality and the character of this beautiful cat in your work. Exceptional work! I love it!

Wow! I love your style. Stubby comes through as an individual with a strong personality, laying in a favorite spot. Love that detailed, exquisite style with all those fine lines and gradations, reminds me of Audubon and other classical natural history artists... applied to a sweet, fascinating cat! Stubby is awesome. Gorgeous portrait. I'm sure the client's thrilled and overjoyed! I would be!
