Knitting with Homespun - Charity projects

Some time ago I started doing a variety of small projects for one of the many charity groups. Because they welcome wool rather than acrylic (more warmth), I've been working through my spinning stash. This has been a great way to use 150 - 300 yard spinning projects - things I have played around with, but without a use in mind.

The organization specifically asks for bright or dark colors that do not show dirk, and extra thick knitting i.e. two strands together. All of these have at least one strand of homespun.

Finally got these mailed off the other day!

Very sweet of you to use your homespun yarn in that way. These look great.

Re: Knitting with Homespun - Charity projects

Hi Doug and Debby.

I spend many hours spinning, as it is so meditative. It is my go-to when I need some quiet time. Hence I create more than I can use in my own projects, and these kinds of knit items can take all the bits and pieces in my stash.

Adorable little projects. I found that too with spinning before I started reacting to the wool. Plus my roommates would come into to room and just sit and read because they also felt it was soothing.
