"Bella"

I rarely draw my own pets but may start a trend as I have such cute models. This is my youngest, 3 year old Bella. A cavalier mix. She is such a sweetheart and my devoted companion. Everyone loves this little angel. I switched papers again and went with Canson Mi Teintes pastel paper, smooth side. 8x10. Still using my Prismas and finished the white areas and whiskers with Alyona Nickelsen, products, Titanium white with touch up texture. Love this product and cannot live without it now.

She looks absolutely beautiful. You have really captured her loveable nature. She looks so soft and fluffy, I just feel like stroking her.

Re: "Bella"

What a lovely, crisp pet portrait. I like the colour of that Canson paper for this picture - it has a classic timeless look about it.

Re: "Bella"

It's beautiful. Can you tell me what brush/tool you use for the titanium white? When I do whiskers with it it always seems too heavy even though I use a very fine detail brush.

Re: "Bella"

Thanks for all the lovely comments everyone. I really appreciate it. I really enjoyed drawing Bella. She has my heart wrapped around her little paw.

To answer a couple questions, I have tried pretty much every kind of paper. Although I don't believe I have tried the Strathmore toned paper. I would think it is comparative to the Canson pastel paper. I think the weight is about the same.

For applying the titanium white and touch up texture, I used a teeny tiny brush. I think the key is to keep your mixture thin. Even if it means going over the whisker a couple times to get the depth.

Thanks again ALL!!!!
