Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Last night's figure group

My favourite model was there last night. She's full bodied and often giggles to herself while she poses - Ive no idea why. At one stage she sat in that legendary Christine Keeler pose then decided (possibly) it was just too much for the group and swivelled around a few times till she felt comfortable on the chair. I'm still hooked on sanguine right now, two five minutes and two 10 minutes.

I'm always amazed how most of the group treat the model as a totally inanimate object. I try to thank every model who poses, man or woman. is it that people are shy? Admittedly I'm the eldest by far and maybe a bit old fashioned with manners.

Head is too small on this one...

Some really good gestures here, David!

I am in charge of "training" our models, mostly because many of them are beginners. The first thing I do is to introduce the model to the group- easy because we are a small group.
I talk quietly to the model before we start and make sure that he/she is completely comfortable and understands what is required. I also ensure that they know that if the pose is uncomfortable or not-sustainable for the allocated time- then they need to let us know.
I say to them that they are the most important person in the room- we can't draw without them!
The models really enjoy their time with us- and of course we are always respectful.

The drawings are coming along well. I'm of the same belief the model should be thanked its a privilege to be able to study the naked form not a right.

I like these, they capture the masses well.
All of the models with the groups I go along to are of long standing at the arts centre. Some of them draw and paint too. They are just regarded as members of the group.

Re: Last night's figure group

Thanks Harry. My group is at a university and many of the students try out the figure drawing and dont return so it never really becomes cohesive. I'm not going to complain, I only pay £2 for an hour
