Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Over the Deep XP'd

I'd posted this drawing in D&S, but had the thought just now that the Figure forum sometimes shows work that has a wider gamut. I haven't been to a life drawing session in a looong time and can really only participate in this forum if I share work I draw from references. So here is a sustained drawing from the summer.
"Over the Deep" pencil & graphite powder, 17" x 23"
I'm including a couple of crops because that's the sort of thing I like to see myself. The 800 ppi limit doesn't always show the detail one may otherwise check out.
C&C welcome Thanks for looking.

Amazing amount of imaginative detail all the way around. So much effort seems to have gone into this. The almost Lovecraftian tendrils and swirls are compelling. I am very impressed!!!

Thanks WoodyWelch
While in Sedona a little while back I participated in a "Power Animal" exercise. I have both Butterfly and Caterpillar as my Power Animals, and I even had a Merging I mention this because in the drawing the figure is weaving in and out of the wings of a Glass Butterfly. I like having some semblance of method to inform my madness

Wow. Amazing amount of detail. I love how you rendered the water. Especially how it hits the roots? as it is falling.
Very nice job! Oh yeah, the figure. Looks spot on to me!

This something you would expect a digital artist would do for a concept drawing. The complex interweaving of parts is awesome you have to have a strong disciplined mind to draw like that.

Thanks Mike. In a drawing like this it's good to hear the foundation pieces were successful. That gives the final piece a better chance of hanging together, and when I put the time into work like this I really want a fresh eye to not find the different elements jarring.
Bill that was intriguing to me back a long time ago, that layering and such. Well before such things as personal computers I would try to build things in my mind. Digital art never really hooked me, but weaving imagers together with pencils sure has My skill set is definitely still under review, but I do thank the gods for a decent array of erasers. It really helps to be able to knit the graphite in and out of the paper. If you have any interest in seeing how a couple of my pieces came together I have WIP threads you could scroll down. I personally enjoy seeing how they coalesce.
