Saw-whet Owl ~ xPost Watermedia

12x9 on Bristol 300 series paper done today using two different media in my ongoing bird series in various art products. For this I used a black Tombow brush pen and only put in black areas first, from one of my bird photos, doing negative painting. After that I used a #14 round and with fresh water, created the grey midtones leaving whites. While most areas still wet I sprinkled black Brusho crystals then blended some areas with a wet brush, being careful not to over blend or over mix. Look closely and you can see the orange and blue within the Brusho. No pencil pre-drawing done in this vignette.
C&C welcome

Your moniker KreativeK is perfect for you - your works are always magnificent - I am so inspired by your art, I actually went out and purchased some watercolors, brushes and watercolor paper! They are cheap sets and all I can afford - but like I said, you truly inspire me and are so generous in explaining how you go about achieving your results - thank you
Wonderful, wonderful work

I'm enjoying this series Kay! I love the dark tones in this and like how the Brusho shows through. It's also amazing what water can actually do!

Thanks everyone!
A special thank you to CaliAnn and I'm thrilled you are inspired.
As for the water, I spritzed too much over his right eye (our left) that made him appear grumpy.
