Re: North Cape

I really wonder about this one. 525 views not one comment. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but it's a fairly unique painting, of a very important historic event. Quite dificult to depict an Arctic night lit by flares. Went down well on marine sites. Have to have a think about what I post here. Not to worry.

Re: North Cape

I agree Jim,some may not like the subject, but they should appreciate the ambition of the composition and the manner in how it was painted.

Re: North Cape

Thanks for your remarks on these three paintings. I'm planning on an 'action on the flight deck' pic, suggested by my ex pilot pal.

Re: North Cape

I adore this. I have to admit to being generally partial to naval and maritime art. I love the way you've captured the glare, the churned ocean, and that millisecond frozen in time just after the torpedo leaves the tube. It forced me to reflect on the potential in that moment - did it hit its mark? Did this one send people into the ocean?
I've only just recently joined, but you have earned a fan in me.

Re: North Cape

Thank you Smithy, I usually try not to show actual battles, but at times it is necessary.

Wonderful depiction of the end of the proud Scharhorst!
