Nördlingen - Xpost

Nördlingen is a walled city in southwestern Germany. We were there for a couple cloudy days in April 2016. It snowed overnight. However, a bit of sunshine would light up the spring colors.

I struggled to paint the cloudy skies in 5-6 attempts. Mary has suggested a "stippler" brush to help in an earlier thread. I will order one after a pending vacation. Any other C&C relating to skies or otherwise are welcome. Thanks for looking, Gary

I like this very much. I was more interested in the trees and rest of the painting and really didn't notice the sky until you mentioned it. I wonder if a blender brush would help to unite the sky? I've never used a stippler brush & rarely paint landscapes but can see where stippling the edges of the color changes would ease the color transitions.

Even as is, it's very well done. Let us know if you change it and what you do.

Thanks AbyA. The problem I have with blending caseins is that they so quickly start to dry and become sticky. It might just be a matter of practice. Gary

Gary, this is a cool painting. Personally, I don't see a problem as it is.
