Good evening, about 8:10 pm here. Crisp night feels good. Had a great day went shopping at a consignment shop. Found a side table in dark cherry stain.

Geoff, that's what I call a challenging course.

My PT gave me some exercises and ice advice. My meniscus is a little lopsided.
Be kinder than necessary

I was born with big lips!!!

So I am happy!!!

My SIL did 8 times in Afghanistan, and that is hard.

Re: ** Daily Wash Friday 6th October 2017**

Good evening all.

I was born with normal lips, neither fat or thin, unless they stretched to a smile. Roger quite likes them. Childhood photos show a pout, which means I have had a fat bottom lip at one stage. I can't help thinking how my life would have gone with perpetually fat lips and no frown.

My sister had Botox once. She is much younger than me. They didn't do the outer eyebrows so when she raised her eyebrows her kids and I rolled around in laughter. Mrs Spock. She didnt do it again, as her kids were primed and her husband so amused as to be unbearable. never let you forget.

So, to the weather. Hot. Storm came through and I had to open the door to the black cat in the nasty falling krytonite. Wiser stripe cat was already in for her afternoon nap.

Here is Loki being awoken by me. Sleeping on the top step and still keeping everyone under control.

You can imagine what she said .... W w to tee . Don't wake me up!

Re: ** Daily Wash Friday 6th October 2017**

Hello Everyone

Well 5AM here in OHIO.. I've been awake since 2AM. Geez!!!! No wonder I have no trouble falling asleep at 9pm.

Stepmom getting out of hospital today so that is where most of my day will be spent. It sure took up a lot of my time this week. Hoping I can get back on track next week.

I still have lots of home painting & room reorganizing left to do.

Went downtown last night to one of the shops. They had a Ladies Night Event. I wanted to see an artist friend. Got to spend time with her & met another lady. This artist takes groups to places like France, Italy, Greece & next year going to Spain.

I'm thinking I'm going to go into the kitchen & make pancakes. Hubbs will be shocked

Everyone enjoy your day.

Good Morning all,
It is a little past 5:30 here in still dark Oakwood. More rain possible today. The rain yesterday was welcomed by all the growing things outside because it had been 12 days since the last rain.

The moon outside my window last night was gorgeous in the dark sky.

Born with normal sized lips, just the right size for my face, but they have thinned out a bit with age. I'm content with them, no botox or anything else like that for me.

Anita, Good luck with getting your stepmom settled.

Annie, I can read Loki's mind — WHAT do you want????

to Doug, Geoff, Sharon, and all who are on their way.

Good morning / evening to you all.
Good morning / evening to all the washers to come.

Windy, and sunny. The Mistral is blowing, ergo we have sun.
The hole diggers refuse to stay outside. they have accepted to stay, just the time to have their breakfast quickly gulped. Frenzied requests to get inside started immediately after, as if a monster was chasing them.

Watercolour class this evening.

I have finished my book, yesterday. Absolutely fascinating. Needless to say, I am now obsessively looking for all about his Language game's theory, to go further in the understanding of it.
I have started Fabienne Verdier's (a french painter, specialist of monumental chinese calligraphy) Between Heaven and Earth (Entre Ciel et Terre). Fabulous work, and philosophic interpretation of it!

Desperate housewife chores are waiting for me, this afternoon.
I have spent the morning sorting, and making the inventory of all my fountainpens. The number is larger than I thought, and I have two more arriving - but being gifts from the one who made them, I cannot refuse.
I have put more than 10 aside, in order to sell them. At least, I could choose those 10. But I really would like to sort a lot more, to sell, and keep only something like 20. Hard, hard job to do.

Linda, please don't be upset.
Sometimes it is good someone stops us from our dark thoughts' circle - I know what I am talking about - it helps to be able to extirpate the harmful spiral, at least for a moment.
Take a deep breath, make a jar full of one of those delicious juices you want to make, choose a nice book, put a chair on your upstairs terrace (is there a terrace where you have this beautiful view you so much like?), and spend several hours just enjoying the calm. Forget about everything, even the organising of the new house - you will worry about it, tomorrow.

Edit - Annie, sweet sweet cat. She looks like my Vasco, when awaken by something, or someone

Have a nice day / evening / night dear washers.

Annie nice kitty! I now have mine spoiled rotten and used to albacore tuna 2-3 times a day. What was a treat for a sick kitty is now a 'right' demanded by two of them every day.

I have a great view of the moon, my WC name though comes from the love of the Neil Young song. I hope I am not as bad as werewolves!

Weather here a bit cooler in the evening, still 89 in the day. A big lizard was on the window screen looking in yesterday, exciting the dogs. They are still barking at people walking down the street or in their own backyards, which I try to stop them from doing as fast as possible.

Re: ** Daily Wash Friday 6th October 2017**

Good morning...afternoon and evening to all the Washers...another day today like yesterday. Low to mid 80's, lower humidity and slight breeze...I can live with that.

This morning I'll get to cutting the tub band pieces....day was interrupted yesterday to pick up the grandsons from school, which I enjoy....we always stop and get something special for a snack. They are both at the age where they are bottomless pits when it comes to eating....and none of us let mom or grandma know about it....they definitely aren't healthfood snacks if you get my drift.

and it's Friday which is house cleaning day for me......will be a busy day indeed.

Got back on to a long tern project yesterday....when my father passed away he left a ton of family history materials (photos, slides, genealogy and family records, etc., etc.), like 3000 -4000 slides, suite cases of photos all neatly placed in yellow labeled envelopes, documents going back to my 6x great grandfather a Prussian mercenary, who fought in the Revolutionary War for Continental Army under Washington. I've been transferring everything to a digital format with links and all that takes you from a picture, to the family tree, to copies of records, etc., etc. and it suddenly struck me that I have very much become like my father in many ways.....life is strange, funny and scary all at the same time. It dawned on me that I need to let some things go that I really don't have any control of....like our fake President and the bat crap crazy stuff he does everyday, or the daily buffet of controversial issues like gun control, Republicans vs. Democrats, etc., etc......it's not that those aren't important, but that they are so huge that my involvement is inconsequential in the big picture.....they are insatiable beast that will drain you of every ounce of your life force if you let them. I'm more effective in my limited world......that's where I can make a difference. It's easy to get caught up in the big things and loose sight of the little thing that are immediately changeable right beside you.........I guess you could say I took an inventory and didn't much like what I found...........sometimes you just have to do it. We put it off or ignore it altogether and we're the worse off for it. It's impossible to know where you're going on this life journey if you don't know where you're at and where you've been......it's perspective, it's clarity and it's sorely needed. When I was working in my career, it was structured, but now that I'm retired....it's like just drifting along with the tide, the same routines, the same steps.....repeated time and time again. It's a dangerous rut and it's easy to get comfortable with it......and it's unhealthy.

Dare to take inventory....dare to make changes....dare to face new things, new ways, new ideas, new what if's.....dare to be bold............change for the better is good. Life's river has many forks on it....dare to explore a new fork.

Let the adventure begin...........do something today or tomorrow that you've always wanted to do, but you've been putting it off....do it just for you. (Geoff, Doug, Bill......this in now way means you should go cliff climbing or free falling, bull riding or running with the bulls, sky diving or para sailing....just sayin.....and stay off skateboards).

Okay....the animals are begging for breakfast.....some things never change. Have a great day, afternoon or evening my friends....be good, do good...be daring.

Pain and heartaches aren't options in life........misery is a choice.

Re: ** Daily Wash Friday 6th October 2017**

Good Morning!!

It's dull for a change and the road is wet but I am not sure it it rained a bit or if it is presently drizzling. A high of only 18C and NO sunshine forecast.

Well, that kind of messes up my plans because I was going to do some Fall gardening. The other plan was, and is, to make my DIL's carrot birthday cake. I'll make the cream cheese icing for it tomorrow. I also have to do some house cleaning.

Char, what a shame that your freezer died on you and caused you more mess and work.

Les, so is Sylvia finally free of all that shingles pain???

Wash interrupted by searching for a place to get my flu shot

Maria, OMG you must be a fountain pen hoarder Good luck with your book finds.

Born with normal lips that are getting thinner and thinner as I get older Les, does that mean that I am getting meaner??

Anita, participating in one of those group trips sure would be fun ey?? Hope all goes well with your MIL's hospital release.

Annie, what a look on Loki She certainly has a beautifully shiny coat, I am sure you have something to do with that.

Shady, I misinterpreted that space in the roof, so no sky light and star watching

Bill, Doug, Geoff, Shirley2, Linda, Sylvia and Sharon to you and wishing everyone a good day!!

P.S.: Steve, aren't we philosophical today I have been looking for a new passion, haven't found one yet, your suggestions do not appeal to me

I am glad you got a professional opinion. Did you buy the patella strap?

Happy gardening Geoff..

Annie I am with you I was born with the normal size lips for my face. Love that photos purrrrr purrrrrrrr Laughing at the botox. Your poor sister, learned the hard way..

My Lip plumper hasn't got anything nasty is it, it is plant based. I like it over my lipstick, it moisturises my lips. It doesn't plum them much

Rain has stopped. It was hosing down when i drove home from the grocery store this afternoon. By the time I got into my street, it was torrential. car needed a wash so i drove around the block

Bill I am relieved to read M/s Feral finally gave in with the insulated box.

Ok I had better get ready for bed, and hope no nightmares tonight.

Love and hugs..

Re: ** Daily Wash Friday 6th October 2017**

Welcome rain here too, things were so dry. Have had a couple of busy days.

Ended up at Curry's yesterday, some supplies for the Printshop at Westfield, and some 90 lb watercolour paper for a few sketch books. They now carry Akua inks for printmaking, lovely (and expensive!) soy based water soluble inks so I got a starter set and am looking forward to doing some relief prints this winter. Speedball has taken over the company, to my surprise.

Steve, I'm there too, have no control over the chaos out there, must remind myself every day to focus on what I do have control over. Anxiety can be immobilizing, no use to anyone. Great to be able to work with our hands and make something better

One of my favourite songs too Linda

I'll post a pic of the hat soon Maria, it is tedious knitting and I find myself sitting watching my AcornTV show in the evening, with my hands still.....
You are ambitious with your reading, mine is more escapist Just finished a series of six books by Nathan Dylan Goodwin, his protagonist is a genealogist who has adventures in his searches, and the historic flashbacks are very well done. The first book was a bit wooden, but they improved greatly, and I enjoyed them all for their interesting characters and story lines.

But less reading and more useful work in the near future, have some deadlines to meet.

So glad you escaped that crash Les, sounds like a sad story. I'm glad that Sylvia continues to improve

A cat with attitude, I recognize that expression Annie If we were away for a few days, someone always came in to feed our feline, but when we came back she would ignore us and actually sit in the room on the floor in a corner of the rug with her back to us for several evenings....and then all would be forgiven. She had a very expressive back!

Greetings to all!

Cheers, Lynn. C&C always welcome. https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/lynn-macintyre.html
