Plein Air return

Just returned from a 67 day plein air journey into AZ & Utah. A wonderful vacation and plein air experience. I painted every morning and completed sixth-two 9x12 studies of the surrounding landscape. Some are finished pieces and others are studies - most done in a loose painterly style. Some of each will be used to create larger pieces ( 18 x 24 ) and larger.

Such rich dramatic colour contrasts ... bit of a feast for the eye.

Re: Plein Air return

Nice work. I love how you punched the red tones, and left everything so loose. An almost abstract quality....

All are such stunning and shining examples of your unique style, Richard! That red is perfect, whatever color it is called.

Wow! Jealous of that long trip and all that time to paint.
Love the color in your work and style.
