Back of the Barn 2- Oil 8x10- Ken Tiessen (xpost Lands)

I painted two scenes on my friend's farm a few weeks ago- this second also refined much further in the Studio in color and details. Oil on primed panel.

Another great version. I think the farm implement helps this one more. I have not thought of this before but the round shape of the wheel adds variety/contrast to all the straight lines. Gary

That's a great point Gary, and I think you're right. It did not cross my mind at all until you mentioned it. Thanks!

Interesting, which is all in nature, one must only take it.
Very nice, the "glowing" surface.

Thank you Ernst! It has been good for my mixing and process to have done two of the same structure- the whites and neutrals can go many ways.

Thanks CB3! Much of it was done with a simple palette of warms and cools that were helpful to control the color- cad orange, transparent red oxide, cobalt blue, and ultramarine. I've not done this much, so it was a good experience.

Thanks Randy! I do love the textures and drawing of barns, and they certainly are a challenge in many ways. Ran across some new ideas for setting things up, and you will see a few more- stay tuned!
