Small rocks at the edge of the sea

(pastel on Montval paper - 32 cm x 50 cm)
small rock of an existing beach in the north coast of the State of São Paulo (Brazil).
The luminosity ignites within me an intense vibration and a wonderful will to live.
I hope you like it!

George, I can feel the swirl and power, and the sound of the water. Are those barnacles I see on your red, red, rocks?

Re: Small rocks at the edge of the sea

It is a very good idea of painting rocks by the side of the Sea with some parts of them submerged in the water. The swirl of water and the foam along side the rocks are very deftly painted . What are those rocks of that lovely colour I have not seen such colourful rocks either in Europe or,i in triopical seas ?

I can understand your internal intense vibrations, but will to live ...does it mean that the scenic beauty could disperse feelings of depression and sadness ?

Dear Charles, they are existing rocks in the north coast of São Paulo (Brazil). Here there are 7300 km of coastline, with thousands of beaches, ranging from temperate to tropical beaches, with various types of geological formations.

I enjoyed the experience of coloring this work, which has produced me several reflections on how colors and luminosity can imprint their vibrations of excitement or peace within us. That's why my words.

Re: Small rocks at the edge of the sea

Dear Skavendish , It is good that you put your act of painting into a phylosophic perspective. From where I come we have a spiritual philosophy where the mind and matter are recognised as two different entities and that which we produce manually is in reality prompted by the mind. Hence behind what is produced physically there is the minds planning. It is so in painiting or even listening to music or paying attention to any thing wde do phisically.. There is an intence concentration of the mind in what the body is doing . The result is the stunning beauty of what we see, sweetness of what we hear or the enjoyment of what we are doing.

The beautiful painting you have produced is the result of the intense concentration in what you have been doing. You put it very well in your own words:

"......... which has produced me several reflections on how colors and luminosity can imprint their vibrations of excitement or peace within us. That's why my words."

In watching a beautiful painting, we see the beautiful mind of the painter.

Charles

Nice. Your pictures have an oil pastelish look, is that the Montval paper?

Thank you, Charles! :-) It is in the mind that art arises, before being expressed by the artist. My job is only that art is expressed with the most original purity.

Thank you, Esther! I always liked the vibration of colors. After all, I live in the Amazon. I just have to be careful that this vibration happens harmonically.

Leslie: thank you for your words! :-) The vibration of the colors and the gestural seeks to correspond with that which is within me.
