Windmills

Hello, all! This is my latest painting done on a 14 x 18 in. panel. For this painting I used raw umber, burnt umber, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, transparent red oxide, terre verte, ultramarine blue, van dyck brown, and flake white.

Comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking!!!

Re: Windmills

Uh! I love this!
It is totally awesome. At first it seemed your foreground windmill was the subject. The I realized what was playing out.

Very sweetly thought out, imho.

Utmost blessings!

Re: Windmills

I like that you snuck in a third windmill.

Thank you for listing out your colors. I always like to know what colors other artists are using.

Re: Windmills

Thank you, Docpro! I´m so glad to know you have liked it! Utmost blessings!

My pleasure, Tanya! Thank you for your kind comments. On this painting I reintroduced terre verte to my palette..I thought it would be great to use it for this painting!

Thank you, oldglory!! :-)

Thank you, Forrestgrass!! I was so inspired to copy one of my favorite Old Master´s landscape painting: The Windmill at Wijk Bij Durstesde by Jacob Van Ruisdael..a true landscape and cloudscape masterpiece!!!

Thank you, Derek! I´m so honored to know you have enjoyed it.

Re: Windmills

Wow, got me there. I was admiring the painting taped to the wall then read someone's comment and realised the whole thing is the painting!

Nicely done

Re: Windmills

Windmill in a windmill - Charming. As always, good use of color. The big grey circle in the bottom right of the "photo" bothers me, looks like an ugly sewer drain. And the water comes to a hard triangular point at that same part, makes it a focal point, which it shouldn't be.
