The Banff Springs Hotel in the Canadian Rockies is spectacular. It is hard to pass up this value-oriented scene. I am not afraid of darks, but they can be boring. I attempted to make the dark interesting with multiple underlying washes with different, brighter hues and the vertical walls I used heavy granulators to contrast with the shiny reflective floor. And, as usual, I tried to add the lonely woman figure. The painting is not quite so blue as the photo.
