Scavenger Hunt #511: Sept 9 - 17

Okay Hunters, this is a repost of Hunt#3
Welcome to our*third*Scavenger*Hunt*from Life! I was the proud winner of the second*scavenger*hunt

*and have got the opportunity to provide the list for third*Scavenger*Hunt.

But first, rules of the game:*
• All items must be sketched or painted from life---no photo references nor from imagination.
• As before, be as “creative” with the subjects as you want. Multiple subjects in a single drawing/painting is fine. Count them all!*
• No time limit on the sketches…as much or as little detail as you wish.*
• Any medium is welcomed.*
• All items need to be drawn or painted new from the date this*scavenger*hunt*starts.*
• No certain order for completion. Number as you go to keep track of how many you've done.*
• Feel free to ad a tidbit about the item and/or what made you select it.
Here goes the list:

Scavenger*Hunt*#3 now also #511 .... Sept 9 - 17

- a mirror
- a large suitcase / trunk
- a balcony / terrace
- what on dinner tonite
- cds
- belt / waistband
- toilet [you got it right…the pot….. somethings are never so lucky to be usual drawing subjects so I chose it]
- a clock/watch
- an equipment that heats/cools the room
- a clothes line / drying rack
- your wardrobe
- a toy
- a calendar
- your nameplate / name board/house number/mailbox
- letter box
- torch
- 3 vegetables
- a matchbox
- an animal[cockroach/lizards/spiders etc] OR thing[dirty clothes/spilledashtrays/old newspaper etc] that you cannot stand in your house
- a tree/plant
- an old lady
- medicines
- a frozen item
- a glass item
- toiletries
- your favourite corner/place in your house

Keep sketching
Joe
If I have power I will be back to host, if not...take care of each other.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #511

I sketched in the big book for this Hunt with Micron 01. Probably the last sketch from here in Angel Fire, for sure in this big book, now packed in its briefcase.

Number 1, mirror - the mirror sits on the built in hutch. My view from the computer shows the glass windows and outside. I chose to sketch it with just the ceiling showing. Ha.

Joe, thanks for the recycled list. I know that you evacuated. Hopefully you and your wife are somewhere safe. We are all pulling for you and all of Florida!!! Stay safe, my friend and report back to us whenever you can.

Jo, congrats on being first to post a sketch. Nice mirror on the hutch!

Joe, We're holding your family and friends and neighbors and state close. We're with you in spirit. We're so sorry that this is happening and wish we could reverse it, slow it, ease it.

Ai, fantastic veggies. Is the one bamboo? I see the carrots and maybe okra.

Stay safe all. We are on the road, will check in tonight from Lubbock, Texas, if the plan holds.

Take care. Joe and family we are sending safe vibes and positive thoughts.

Also hoping all will go well and as calmly as possible, Joe.

As for the hunt pictures, love the ones so far! I will post my part on a last day in a bulk, it saves time. Hopefully I can manage scans this time.

Jo: The other veggie is the Thai morning glory ... we cook them like spinach but it grows in river or water pond surface.

That is so interesting. We have morning glory overhere, with the same flowers. The plant is not edible, but the flowers are. Just that is not commonly known.

Found an English page through Google translate Thai to Latin. Water Spinach in English https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipomoea_aquatica

Love your sketch

Re: Scavenger Hunt #511: Sept 9 - 17

Ai - Nice job on the three veggies! It is always fun to learn about new veggies that we don't have here.

Joe, thinking of you and the storm. I know it was downgraded but it is still creating major problems down there. Hope you and your wife are in a good location. One of my urban sketching contacts is in a Hampton Inn down there and posting sketches from outside the windows and in the lobby of all the people congregating there. I would probably be doing the same thing.

I need to get off the computer now and do at least a few sketches for today. See you in a bit.

The storm is so bad. Hugs all around. I've eaten sweet pea blossoms but not morning glories. Learn something everyday. Safe in Lubbock.
