Great photos, ntl, thanks for hosting! Love the horses, the rocks, scenery, etc. I've been to that national park in Tucson and it was amazing.

Re: September Challenge, come join us!

I sketched in my coffee table sketchbook with a Micron 01 pen. Probably 40 minutes or so.

Re: September Challenge, come join us!

Jo, your drawings are wonderful. You are very talented.
The flower is easily identifiable as a cereus flower, and the horse has an appearance similar to the model. He was a very recent purchase by the woman holding the lead. She was moving him from a solitary pen several yards away to this pen where he would be with 3 or 4 other horses.

Re: September Challenge, come join us!

Thank you, ntl. Sometimes I really like sketching. Mostly I treat it like homework. Hopefully I will get back to more painting at home where I can leave all my stuff out and not have to pack it every day. Love photos you posted. Inspiring. Hope to do more.

Re: September Challenge, come join us!

Tuscanny, Kay and Jenna, thank you so much.

Maria, I hope you get to go to the Grand Canyon. There are so many interesting places in New Mexico and Arizona. Oooo and Utah...

I'm smiling for you.

watercolor study, ~4"x 6" (10.16 x 15.24cm) 99% Derwent and FB Albrecth Durer watercolor pencils. Last bit was regular cheap school paint.

Re: September Challenge, come join us!

ntl, great piece in watercolor. I am so tentative with watercolor, I always have to draw first with pen or pencil. I like the colors and contrast with the deep darks.
