OK, dumb question time (you knew there'd be at least one from me, right? )

Are you erasing the grid as you color in the sections or going over them hard enough to cover? I'm using the grid method on a piece and had planned on completing the drawing with the grid, then tracing and transferring it to the good paper. I was afraid of not being able to mask the lines if I left them in the drawing.

This does look excellent - can't wait to see all three together!

Hi Sharie,

Yes, I erase the lines as I get to an area. I use the grid to locate significant items in place, then I erase the grid and use the colour to draw the scene. For instance, I erased all the grid before I did the sky.

That makes sense. I think I drew my grid lines too heavily on the one I'm working on so I'll proceed as planned and trace the final drawing and transfer to the final paper. Next time, though, I'll try it your way - certainly would save time! Thanks, Geoff!

Further progress, although it doesn't look much, I have reinforced the sky and the rocks.

Re: Trebarwith Strand Cornwall 3 of 3 -wip

coming on well - maybe a touch more ochre to the green clifftop grass? I find that it has that colour cast on the cliffs and it will link with the ochre of the rocks

Looking really good. I think the foreground rocks are the star of the show at the moment. Looking forward to your next update.
