slate, tile, marble X

16x20 oil on hardboard.
Took this one out of the closet after two years to finish. Was too lazy. I have a new appreciation for it.
Cheers, Derek

Frequently if we revisit past or unfinished works and complete them we have a better sense of fulfillment, at least I do...pat myself on the back for coming out of the lazy stage. I like your choice of items to include and how you arranged them; most would focus on the iris itself. But its soft delicacy is nicely set against the cold, hard tile. Sort of like life itself is.

Off the beaten track, but attractive.
Sorry I didn't comment sooner, NJ buddy. Golf takes it toll at this time of year.

Heh, you're not the first American to call me 'laddie', only the other guy didn't have any Scottish roots and when he said it, it came out sounding like he was calling me a 'lady'.

Seriously though, great painting dude.

This is great Derek. It is very well executed and interesting besides. Unique and interesting composition. Like the colors too.
