Digital Manipulation Challenge VI, Live Oak Tree

On my recent trip to SC there were many photo ops of live oak trees. This one is 300-400 years old they say. I have uploaded the image to the RIL pending approval.
This is a manip using Topaz and is in the watercolor genre. Feel free to add yours. I will post the RIL link when available.

Small image slight shadow adjustment.

Thanks, Rich.
I shall get around to working on this when I get some free time. In the meantime, I am enjoying your watercolor creations, Ron and Rich.

Re: Digital Manipulation Challenge VI, Live Oak Tree

Thanks for the image Rich.

I like both of the watercolour versions. Nicely done gents.

Here is my go. I added an image of one of my granddaughters (from a decade back) as the centre of interest. Did the preparation (composition etc.) in CS2. Ran the result through DAP using the standard "Benson" preset. Back in CS2 I added a brush-stroke texture and then shifted the colours using the Topaz Restyle plugin.

C&C Welcome

regards - Peter

Good one Ron, I like what it did to the grasses.

Wonderful Peter! I like the impasto look and the added figure in red is needed and adds interest!

I happened to find a little bit of time to add a little something to your tree image, Rich.
How's this?

Re: Digital Manipulation Challenge VI, Live Oak Tree

A 53 Buick Skylark Convertible.
It is a pretty expensive car.
I was totally mesmerized by its beauty but couldn't get a good photo of it because people kept standing near it and looking at it. I guess they were mesmerized too.

Maybe I will put several shots of it in the daily later. This manip doesn't do it justice, but I thought it worked for the composition.

I thought it was a Buick. Couldn't come up with the year. A nice one! Would like to see more.

Re: Digital Manipulation Challenge VI, Live Oak Tree

If anyone has been following TheDaveL in Darkroom, you have probably read my reactions to his awesome work, like the most recent creation, an image for a book cover. Well, that sort of inspired me to do a little book cover designing myself.

I used Rich's tree to create a book cover for my first children's book, The Lonely Tree. Just kidding. There is no way I could write a book, not even a children's book. But if I did...

That is one of the best manips I have seen in a long time Lorell! Just fabulous! Great imagination and follow through! It would be a fantastic cover for a book. The addition of the moon and the face really creates a mood. Well done!!!
