Hamilton's Pool

"Hamilton's Pool." Oil on Claybord panel, 2.5" x 3.5".

This is the first in a series of original Texas Hill Country landscapes.

Hamilton's Pool is a State nature preserve located about 25 miles west of Austin. It was formed when the dome of an underground river collapsed thousands of years ago due to erosion. Its jade-green pool and beautiful limestone rock overhang with stalactites make it one of the crown jewels of the Texas Hill Country.

Re: Hamilton's Pool

Impressive detail for that size! I also love the way you painted the water, and the sky.

Gorgeous! You really captured the beautiful color of the pool. Looking forward to seeing what else you do with our hill country.

Beautiful, interesting composition and love the creamy water, and attention to detail.

Re: Hamilton's Pool

Even on that scale the water looks to be falling. Very good.
