Fishing from rocks at High water x/post

mixed mediums on board size 21x33 inches
This man made structure at the mouth of the River Mersey is a great place for fishing and observing sea birds, also passing ships. This scene is from my imagination but i used my own reference photo for the details of the rocks.
These rocks are limestone and where brought over from North Wales about 1970.
Dave c&c welcome

Beautiful painting - well done Dave.
I recognize the sky line - Liver Building, and other modern buildings on the left, and the buildings on the right - although I don't know there names. Last time I was there we had fish n chips by the fort and walked across the sand to the little lighthouse.
Nice to see the blue in the Mersey - its not all grey any more!
Arnie

Nice feel to this. The waves and rocks almost seem to come out from the screen. Gary

Thank you for your comments Arnie, the building on the hill to the right,is the church of st Paul & st peter. The dome of which was known as the dome of hope to generations of seafarers as it was the first big land mark as they approached the river Mersey after a long voyage.

Splendid painting, great atmosphere, natural colours and detail work. I especially like the perspective which to me brings the whole thing so realistically to life.

Great painting, Dangler. Reminds me of a place I love, Freeport which is 60 mi south of me and about 25 mi west of Galveston. There's a jetty there with large pink granite rocks and lots of refineries and ships in the distance. This picture takes me there.

Beautiful painting. The texture on the rocks, the clouds in the sky, all are captured so well. Very inspiring.

I can feel the cold wind coming off the water. Fantastic rocks!
