Re: My Still Life Paintings

Nice warmth in the colours gives the work an aged feeling, as is has a feel of completeness to me.

Re: My Still Life Paintings

Thanks, Colin. The aged look is something that I look for in other works of art. I love technology, but I otherwise have an old soul.

Re: My Still Life Paintings

It started out as an attempt at painting fruit sitting on my bed, but has morphed into an abstract. Not sure what to do about the yellow passage in the lower left. I want to tie it in so that the viewer is caught in a loop. Thanks for commenting Bill.

Re: My Still Life Paintings

Your still life fruit painting is very nice, but I LOVE the door with the robe hanging on it! I like how the light filters under the door and the purples, yellows and blues set a very interesting and even a suspenseful mood. The dark foreground nicely pushes my eyes up towards the door. The title is perfect and gives a sense of mystery. I love it!

Re: My Still Life Paintings

Thank you Leslie! I have been told that I should blend away the colors on the walls, bit I think I will keep it as is. Christel made the suggestion of adding a focal point, something that pretty much all of my work up to the past week has not had. Hope you gave a nice day!

Re: My Still Life Paintings

Here is a crop from my sketchbook, I called this sketch Crazy Eights ... one of my favorite card games, but not my most favorite (Euchre).

Here is another crop of a sketch, I called this one "balloons". This one was more tricky because I had to hold my hand in a certain position for so long, and because I sometimes draw or paint with the other hand depending ... It was some plastic balloon decoration I found in my wife's box of trinkets. Actually it was the second one. The dog got a hold of the first decoration.
